Features

  • Unannounced Meal (UAM) provides an alternative method for detecting and safely dosing insulin in response to significant BG rises, whether due to meals, stress/illness, or hormones.

  • Super micro bolus (SMB) gives you small amounts of insulin as a bolus. Your basal rate will be temporarily reduced after the SMB is delivered.
SMBs allow for faster control of blood sugars by providing more insulin faster, compared to using temporary basal rates.

  • Autosens reviews the last 8 and 24 hours of data and assesses deviations to determine if you are more sensitive or resistant to insulin than expected. If a pattern is detected, it will adjust your insulin sensitivity settings as needed.

The amount Autosens is allowed to adjust your insulin sensitivity is limited by settings called "Autosens Min" and "Autosens Max."

  • Dynamic ISF calculates your insulin sensitivity every loop cycle (5 minutes) instead of every 8 or 24 hours. Dynamic ISF considers your current glucose, 24-hour TDD, and insulin peak time.

Dynamic ISF considers a variable called the "Adjustment Factor," which affects its aggressiveness.

  • Dynamic CR alters the carb ratio (CR) based on current blood sugar and total daily dose (TDD).

  • Autotune is an optional tool that will analyze your accumulated data, giving suggestions on how to adjust your basal rates, sensitivity, and carb ratios.

The option is to run this daily and have the adjustments enacted automatically.

  • Enabling "Convert Fat and Protein" allows you to provide a bolus for fat and protein units (FPU).

The FPUs are then added in segments over a selected timeframe to avoid the gradual rise in blood sugar.

The system does not bolus for the future carbs until the correct time comes, and it sees an increase in blood sugars.

  • Profiles allow you to temporarily (or indefinitely) change many settings simultaneously. These settings include:

    • Percentage of Insulin Delivered

    • Target Glucose

    • Turn on/off SMBs

    • Change ISF and CRs

    • Alter SMB and UAM SMB minutes
